While out checking and shifting sprinklers in the paddock with my 6yr old boy on Saturday evening we spotted a couple of rabbits up the top of the paddock.
So told Nugget to sit tight and watch them while I took a detour back inside to grab my bow.
Got back and started explaining my plan to him, then he wispers "dad keep the wind in ya face so he can't smell you"............. he does listen :-)
Snuck into just on 20m through the tea tree and gave him a smack in the back of the head for eating the sheeps grass.
I turned to see William grinning ear to ear and so excited that he got to see his first bow shot animal.

Being able to start stalking as soon as I walk out our back door is great.

Two days later spotted two big bunnies playing tag in the same spot I shot the smaller one.
So it was game on, but after snapping a twig under foot they took off. I stood still hoping they would return which they did about 3min later. the bigger of the two was a little uneasy and propped up to survey the area.
To late as I was already at full draw and settled my 20 pin on his shoulder, as the arrow flew he turned his upper half my way which put the arrow smack in the middle of his chest dropping him on the spot.

So was pleased that my boy got to see one shot and I now have a heap of rabbit jerky to mung on.

Sitting back from your trophy to make it appear bigger only makes you look smaller!
