Hey Trev, heres a diy link to an mdf wheel DIY MDF Sharpening Wheel: http://youtu.be/jDKaFB5kX0M. I have one that a cut using a jigsaw then mounted on to a bench grinder.
If your caper needs to be resharpened often I could make you one that holds a much better edge for longer, I skinned parkers deer at milani, a wallaroo, scalped a wild dog on the weekend and dressed a full red deer hind as well, still razor sharp and all Ive done is touched it on a steel. Just a thought mate

That's what I read Rhino but you have got the visual thing going, there was another couple after that too

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEv_sqOgR7I

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFiqlTmSOX0 the bloke using the flat board at the end of this one is a good idea also.

Be fecking careful though, of all the stuff in my shed and that the young bloke uses knife making the buffing wheel on the grinder is THE MOST dangerous without doubt !! and these things are very similar.

No worries at all Trev, its about a 3 week wait at the moment though. I will give you a call after work today so work out exactly what you need for a caper even how you hold it for the handle etc, Im desperate for any antler too if you had any spare possibly do a trade
    Regards Ryan

Into the project already, 1" MDF on its way. Found a cake of the white stuff - rouge on eBay. Silicon Carbide a bit harder to find but got some coming. Should be up and running for about $20. I need to buy a grinder regardless.
